#Zaneography

I had the great honor to teach and create the curriculum for #Zaneography an initiative from (Humanities In Practice) teaching at risk youth in my community the skills of Photography and Mindfullness.

Emphasizing Self-Expression rather than self harm.

“It Means the World To Me.”

Growing up with challenges academically and socially meant that I felt alone a lot of the time as a teen. I had to work hard and struggle through many difficult situations; many of which became much more difficult by not receiving the support and guidance I desperately needed due to my neurodivergence.

Creating and teaching “Darkness and Light” through #Zaneography, working with local at-risk youth who were feeling lost and misunderstood in some of the same ways and who also have a passion for the creation of art - using photography as a tool to communicate was one of the great privileges of my life.

It means the world to me to be trusted to teach many youths mindful and practical skills. I was so lucky to be able to support and celebrate their work and individual nature- focusing on the positives and growth they each showed.
